The Music Academy Madras founded on Aug 18, 1928 is one of the premier and early Music Academies in India. With an impeccable history of 75 years of dedication to Indian arts, it is playing a very important role, in encouraging and promoting primarily the Carnatic Music – south Indian art form.
The inaugural concert promises to be a musical treat to the art lovers of Chennai , more so with the presence of Smt. Sudha Raghunathan, one of India’s leading Classical Musicians.She is very well known for her charming and enthralling performances, keeping the audience spell bound.
The concert is in continuation to the series that has been organized in Delhi for the past 8 years and it is the first time that it has traveled outside the capital city.
The concert series, in an unbroken pattern of four Concerts every month at India Habitat Center in New Delhi, with two dedicated to Dance and two to Music, have brought before the connoisseurs of the Arts, the finest in the classical arts of India. The series has featured some of the finest names like Sonal Mansingh, Shobhana Chandrakumar, Geeta Chandran, Madhavi Mudgal, Bharati Shivaji, Madhup Mudgal, Padmashri Raja & Radha Reddy, Rita Ganguly, to name a few.
