HCL Infosystems to provide 14,000 units of HCL ME Laptops to final year students in various colleges across Chhattisgarh

HCL Infosystems India’s premier Services and ICT Systems Integration, Distribution and Hardware company today announced the awarding of a contract from Chhattisgarh Infotech & Biotech Promotion Society (CHiPS). HCL Infosystems has been selected for the Government of Chhattisgarh project – Free Distribution of Laptops to final year engineering and medical students of Government-aided and Private Colleges across the state. The project is part of the Chhattisgarh Yuva Suchna Kranti Yojana started by the Chhattisgarh State Government with special initiative of Hon. Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Dr. Raman Singh and will benefit the final year Engineering and Medical students during the year 2013. CHiPS is the nodal agency for procurement of laptops for the project on behalf of the State Government and executing the project in coordination with the Directorate of Technical Education. This is the first phase of the project, where HCL Infosystems is supplying 14,000 laptops.

 

HCL Infosystems will provide 14000 laptops to the students in different districts comprising of 51 colleges across Chhattisgarh State. HCL enjoys one of the largest installation bases of computer systems backed by the direct support network of 1 Regional Office, 1 Area office and 7 location offices with more than 70 Engineers covering the entire state.

The company will also set up its Service Centres in few districts to offer comprehensive maintenance and handle any service requests. The Specifications of the laptops that will be given to the students includes Intel Dual core processor with 2 GB RAM, 500 GB Hard disk and Wi-Fi among other features.
