  • Under Maharashtra e-governance project Citizens of Sangli Miraj Kupwad Municipal Corporation (SMKMC) to benefit immensely

 

HCL Infosystems India’s premier hardware, services and ICT system Integration company today announced that it has been awarded with the prestigious contract to commission, implement the E-governance Project & maintain the complete set-up by SMKMC. HCL will provide the required technical infrastructure including all hardware, software and requisite technical skill set along with non-technical manpower. The existing employees will also get training to use the new System. Mr. Jayant Patil, Honorable Rural Development Minister of Maharashtra inaugurated the project.

Under the scope, HCL will computerize all the 32 departments of corporation and will make them online. In the first phase, important departments of the corporation like Birth & Death, Water Supply, Tax Dept and Property Dept will be computerized. The citizens will get all the applications free of cost over internet and facilities like payments through online, debit card, credit card will be available and the receipt of tax paid would be available online of providing all applications, duplicates, certificates, part maps, index, etc.

 

HCL will be responsible for the implementation and administration of the project including computer trainings to corporation employees. In addition, HCL will also install online payment facility. As a part of the project and state Government’s guidance, biometric thumb impression system for corporation employees will also commence.

 

In Order to provide a new dimension to the citizen services, the new solution will also ensure that daily balance sheet is available to office immediately and that the senior officers are informed effectively about the pending complaints by the citizens.
