The Computer Systems Division of Toshiba Singapore Pte. Ltd. in partnership with HCL Infosystems Ltd, India’s premier information enabling company, today announced the next phase in retail of mobile computing products, by unveiling a series of new concept stores named ‘shopToshiba’. These concept stores are India’s first exclusive stores to showcase an extensive range of mobile computing products for the home, SOHO and SMB customers. In the first phase of rollout, Toshiba & HCL have established 7 ‘shopToshiba’ stores in Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Gurgaon & Mumbai. The two partners plan to extend this network of exclusive retail stores to 15 cities by the end of 2006.

This initiative will add a new dimension to the retailing of mobile computing products in India. Each ‘shopToshiba’ concept store, with a strategic channel representative location, will showcase Toshiba’s most innovative mobile computing devices and complementary accessories right from the world’s slimmest lightweight notebooks with the latest cinematic multimedia-rich screens, to wireless Tablet PCs, providing the ultimate digital home entertainment lifestyle experience. In addition, these concept stores also provide post-sales products that are a part of “Toshiba Must Have” Gadgets that give the customers a unique and entertaining shopping experience.
